My Philosophy
Hi, I’m Nicole.
I’m a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and Certified Lactation Counselor with a passion for helping families feel confident, supported, and connected through every stage of their journey. Whether I’m celebrating a child’s first words, guiding parents as they prepare to welcome their baby, or supporting a family through early communication challenges, I believe meaningful care begins with strong relationships.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged children, and their families across a wide range of communication needs. I have a special interest in childhood apraxia of speech, motor speech disorders, and speech sound disorders, and have pursued advanced training in evidence-based approaches including PROMPT® and Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC). I also have experience supporting children who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and have completed specialized training in oral function and tongue tie evaluations for both infants and children. No matter a child's communication style, my goal is to help them develop meaningful, functional communication while building confidence along the way.
My approach is rooted in neurodiversity-affirming, relationship-based care. I believe children learn best through connection, play, and joyful interactions, which is why I thoughtfully incorporate DIR/Floortime principles whenever appropriate. Every child deserves to feel understood, capable, and celebrated for who they are. Therapy should be engaging, collaborative, and individualized, while giving caregivers practical strategies and the confidence to support communication beyond our sessions together.
Supporting families has always been at the heart of my work. As a Certified Lactation Counselor, I enjoy walking alongside parents during pregnancy and the postpartum period, providing education, encouragement, and individualized guidance. My goal is never to offer one-size-fits-all advice, but to help families make informed decisions that align with their values, feeding goals, and unique circumstances.
Outside of my clinical practice, I’ve been a certified yoga instructor for more than a decade, teaching movement, breathwork, and mindfulness to individuals in every season of life. Yoga has deeply influenced the way I care for families by reinforcing the importance of presence, compassion, and meeting people exactly where they are. Whether I’m working with a toddler learning to communicate, supporting a child through motor speech therapy, or helping an expectant parent prepare for birth, I believe the most meaningful progress begins with trust, connection, and feeling truly seen.
I created Woven Family Care to bring these passions together. Too often, families are asked to navigate separate providers for speech therapy, feeding support, lactation care, and parent education. My vision was to create one place where evidence-based care, whole-family support, and meaningful relationships are thoughtfully woven into every experience. It is truly an honor to be invited into your family's journey, and I look forward to partnering with you every step of the way.
With Gratitude,
